About The Artist
I’m Cheyenne - graphic designer and illustrator. I’m originally from the East Coast, now living on the West Coast. I graduated with an Associate’s degree in Communication Design with a concentration in Print & Web.
In my spare time, I love playing video games, dying my hair bright colors, reading fantasy novels, collecting Disney pins, and jamming to Blue October (who I’ve seen over 20 times in concert!). I’m not afraid to take risks - professionally or personally. However, don’t mistake that for me being quick to bite the bullet. My relocation to California was a challenge in many ways. I decided to relocate in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Laid-off from my job, I decided to make the jump. Not only did I see this as an opportunity to learn about new cultures, and further myself professionally, but it allowed my now-husband and I to close the distance in our long-distance relationship.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Graphic design allows my overactive imagination, my pinball brain with fifty different internet browser tabs open, to have an outlet. One of my greatest challenges as an artist is grappling between growing up left-brained (analytical, structured, and focused) and blossoming into a right-brained adult (creative, emotional, and imaginative). However, I have learned to turn my biggest challenge into a positive. Within graphic design, you must have structure. However, you also must demonstrate creativity.
As a designer, I seek to find a way to bridge the difference between designers and non-designers by using my experiences to understand where left-brainers and right-brainers are coming from. This methodology will benefit my clients by offering a focused design that attracts your attention and delivers a clear message. I am constantly creating and hungry to expand my design skills. I hope you will join me on my adventure to creating a world where designers and non-designers better understand each other.
